What is the HPV Vaccine?

HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI) in the world. Most people who are infected with HPV clear the virus on their own, but some people develop persistent infections that can lead to cancer.

When Will the HPV Vaccination Campaign Start?

After eight days, immunization will continue at regular EPI immunization centers and through permanent centers.

Students in 5th to 9th grades and girls aged 10 to 14 who are not in school can receive this vaccine by registering on the Vaxepi app or the website.

Regarding vaccination, EPI’s program manager, SM Abdullah Al Murad, said, “We plan to ensure 95 percent of girls between the ages of 10 and 14 receive the Cervix vaccine.” We will conduct this program across the country in three phases. We will announce the vaccination program subject to availability in phases after completing the first phase.

Each vial contains two doses of the vaccine, which will be administered to two teenage girls. It is a single-dose vaccine administered intramuscularly. Currently, human papillomavirus vaccination is administered in 131 countries, and cervical vaccination is administered in 24 countries.
