Among them 30, 35,250 qualifies which makes the percentage of passing students 98.51%. 28, 30,734 no of students participated in PEC and 27, 88,432 students passed the exam out of them. Where in Ebtedayee, 2, 57,500 students participated out of which 2, 46,818 qualified. And a total no of GPA 5 students were 2, 46,818.

PEC Grading System

The first two years of PEC exam i.e. 2009 & 2010, the result was in the division system. And from 2011 the result is making trough Grade Point Average (GPA) system. PEC result 2018 will also be in GPA system.

The grading system was mainly introduced so that people can understand it better. This system also aims at reducing the tension among students as well as their parents.

The mark and grade distribution is given below as tabular form.

Marks Grade Point Latter Grade
100-80 5.0 A+
70-79 4.0 A
60-69 3.5 A-
50-59 3.0 B
40-49 2.0 C
33-39 1.0 D
0-32 0 F

So suppose, a candidate gets 65 in any subject which is within the range 60-69. That means he’ll get an A- in that subject and 3.5 will contribute to his final grade no from that subject.

There’re total 6 subjects on which the tests in the PEC examination were taken. Each carries 100 marks so the total mark of PEC is 600 and the PSC result 2018 will be prepared from that total mark.

It’s advisable for every student to learn well about the GPA system. So he’ll be able to calculate his own result from the mark sheet for satisfaction.

How to calculate the final grade point and grade?

Below is a mark sheet, for example, to make you understand how to calculate your grade.

Subject Marks Grade point Later grade
Bangla 75 4 A
English 82 5 A+
Mathematics 80 5 A+
Social science 70 4 A
General Science 78 4 A
Islamic studies 88 5 A+
total 473 27

So his GPA will be

Sum of grade points/6

= 27/6

=4.5

So the student has secured an A in the PEC exam.
