NU Honours Admission Result 2025

The NU Honours Admission Result 2025 will be released today. Once announced, you can check your result online through the official National University website at www.nu.ac.bd/admissions. The admission results will be published on July 24, 2025. Separate merit lists will be prepared for Science, Business, and Humanities Group students based on their performance. The admission test consisted of a 100-mark MCQ examination, with each question worth 1 mark. All test-takers answered 20 marks of Bangla questions, 20 marks of English questions, and 20 marks of General Knowledge questions. The remaining 40 marks were subject-specific based on your group selection.

There was no negative marking for incorrect answers. To qualify for the merit list, you must secure at least 35% marks in the admission test. Your final merit score will be based on a total of 200 marks—100 from the MCQ admission test and 100 from your previous academic records.

For academic records, your GPA from SSC and equivalent exams will be multiplied by 8, and your HSC and equivalent GPA will be multiplied by 12. Subject-wise merit lists will be prepared separately for each college according to students’ subject preferences.

If two or more applicants have identical merit scores for the same subject at the same institution, their ranking will be determined as follows:

  • First, the applicant with higher marks in the admission test
  • Second, the applicant with the higher combined GPA (calculated as 40% of SSC/equivalent GPA excluding 4th subject and 60% of HSC/equivalent GPA excluding 4th subject)
  • Third, the applicant with the higher combined marks (calculated as 40% of SSC/equivalent marks including 4th subject and 60% of HSC/equivalent marks including 4th subject)

Honours Admission Merit Result

The admission process will use multiple merit lists and release slips. National University will publish two merit lists, one quota-based merit list, and two release slips. There will be no opportunity to apply for a 3rd Release Slip during this admission cycle. If you don’t confirm your admission after securing a position in any merit list, your allocated seat will be canceled.

Your merit score will be calculated from a total of 200 marks. Of these, 100 marks will come from your MCQ admission test, and the remaining 100 marks from your previous academic records at SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent levels. For academic records, 40% will be taken from your SSC/equivalent results and 60% from your HSC/equivalent results. The GPA from your SSC and equivalent examinations will be multiplied by 8, and your HSC and equivalent GPA will be multiplied by 12.

Once the admission test is complete, the authority will announce the first merit list. If you secure a position in this list, you must confirm your seat by paying the admission fee within the specified timeframe. During confirmation, you can indicate if you want to participate in the migration process.

The migration process will follow the choice preference order you provided during your application. Migration is only possible upward from your current placement. For example, if you are allocated to your third choice, you can only migrate to your first or second choice, not to choices ranked lower.

If you don’t confirm your admission after securing a position in any merit list, you’ll lose the seat allocated to you. After completing the first merit list admission process, the authority will release the second merit list, quota merit list, and migration list.

Honours Admission Release Slip

If you passed the admission test but didn’t secure a position in any merit list, you still have an opportunity to apply for admission through the Release Slip process. National University will announce two Release Slips for the 2025 admission cycle. If you didn’t pass the admission test (scoring below 35%), you won’t be eligible to apply through the release slip option.

You can apply for a Release Slip if there are vacant seats in specific subjects across affiliated colleges. During the Release Slip application process, you can select up to five colleges and specify your subject preferences for each institution.

The Release Slip opportunity is available for applicants who:

  • Passed the admission test but didn’t get a place in the 1st and 2nd merit lists, or
  • Secured a place in a merit list but later canceled their admission, or
  • Got a place in the merit list but didn’t get admitted to their allocated subject
